Sony NEX-5N new standard Adobe color profile
I've updated the NEX-5N Adobe color profiles pack with a new standard profile build from a real color checker shot:
Sony NEX-5N
I haven't seen to many differences from the previous profile build from the NEX-5 one, maybe because the color engines of the two cameras are very similar.

Sony SLT-A77 / SLT-A65 Firmware v1.04
A new firmware for the SLT-A77 and the SLT-A65 is available from Sony. It seems that Sony has improved the SVF/LCD switching speed, and the high ISO noise in RAW.

SLT-A65
Mac:

SLT-A65
If there is an issue on upgrading procedure, please do this recovery procedure:

Sony Image Data Converter 4.0
From the following links you can download the latest version of the Sony RAW development software, Image Data Converter Ver.4.0:
Windows: IDC40_1110a.exe
Windows: IDC40_1110a.exe
- Support for the latest cameras, including NEX-5N, NEX-7, SLT-A65, SLT-A77
- The previous software Image Data Lightbox and Image Data Converter SR are combined to improve the operability.
- Tone reproduction performance in high intensity areas when using D-Range Optimizer is improved.
I'm not a fan of IDC, but sometimes I'm using it to check its color reproduction, specially when I'm not sure of Adobe Lightroom color rendering.

Sony new cameras refuses 3rd party batteries
My new Sony NEX-5N (and I suppose it will be the same with the A77, the A65 and the NEX-7) is refusing my NP-FW50 compatible battery, saying it is not compatible.

Sony NEX-5N
I just opened the box of my new Sony NEX-5N; outside is about the same of the NEX-5, but inside there are many news...

Sony A900 officially discontinued!
The A900 will be the last Full Frame DSRL from Sony, it’s simply too expensive for Sony producing its “state of the art” optical viewfinder, its complex mirror movement and its real two shutter curtains… the new Sony era (you like or not) is made of all “electronic” cameras, that are much more profitable than the "traditional" models.
I love my "old style" A900... and I'm still not yet convinced by the EVF / SLT concept.

Sony (and Minolta) color profiles for Adobe Camera Raw and Adobe Lightroom - UPDATED
I've created new Adobe Camera Raw and Adobe Lightroom color profiles (standard, faithful, landscape, leica, portrait, neutral, positive film, skin tone darker, skin tone lighter, vivid blue, vivid green, vivid red e vivid) for every Sony (and Minolta) interchangeable lens cameras:
I've photographed, under the direct sunlight, a 24 color GretagMacbeth / X-Rite table, then, after converting the RAW to DNG, I've created the standard color profiles with Adobe DNG Profile Editor. Starting from the standard profile and using as reference the "non standard" Nikon, Canon and Leica's profiles, I've created the creative profiles.
The standard profiles are accurate only for the A700, the A850, the A900, the NEX-3, the NEX-5 and the NEX-5N (where I've photographed the color table with the corresponding camera), for the other cameras I've just used the best matching one.
The profile files must be saved under the following folder (be aware that it could be hidden on Windows):
Windows XP:
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera"
Windows Vista/7:
"C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera"
MAC OS:
"/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/Camera"
